Log cabins also make great garden gyms and for several thousand a solid quality building can be purchased which won’t require too much work. Unlike summerhouses, log cabins have much thicker logs and 44mm wall thickness and upwards options won’t require any additional insulation in the walls. We still recommend insulating the roof and this can often be purchased with the building.

A solid base is essential to act as the foundation supporting all of the weight above for years into the future. A summerhouse can weigh hundreds of kilograms, even before it’s been furnished with equipment. Overlooking a level base could result in the garden gym not fitting together correctly. Garden buildings are manufactured to tight tolerances in the factory, and an uneven base could mean the panels or logs not fitting together correctly when assembled.

On a visit to our garden, Andy mocked up plans and visuals that were very helpful. We found Andy to be polite and professional at all times, and very responsive to messages. While shopping around, we have come across some companies that you wouldn't trust to water your plants, let alone manage a building project at your home. We felt quite at ease with Andy, no 'rogue trader' vibes from him at all, and we recommend talking to him/Kingdom Rooms about your project.
